Music - Juan D'Arienzo, "La Cicatrix"
My current favorite tango couple is Javier and Andrea. This performance is an amazing display of technical ability and connection to the music. I like to compare it to the earlier video of Javier and Geraldine dancing to the same song. Both are excellent. But this one conveys a sense of pure JOY! It seems to me, there is a tango for every emotion.

Geraldine Rojas and Ezequiel Paludi, Aug. 2010, Club Sunderland
Music - Edgardo Donato, "Ella Es Asi"
I love Geraldine Rojas because she is such a powerful and passionate dancer. She is amazing! If I find myself feeling timid or indecisive at the milonga, perhaps while dancing with someone for the first time, I think of Geraldine and try to dance with the same fluid strength she projects.

Jorge Dispari and Maria del Carmen
Music - Osvaldo Fresedo,"Tigre viejo"
This couple is one of my favorites. He is so smooth he nearly glides across the floor. And she does some amazing foot work at 1:20. She goes into the cross and then she does a quick delicate step back and then goes back into the cross with another tiny step. This happens fast but I love it. Then she pivots and does a cool little tap with her toe. It's so pretty to me. Sorry, I don't know what those steps are called. I am a beginner but I aspire to one day have such elegance.

Geraldine Rojas and Javier Rodriguez
Music - Juan D'Arienzo, "La Cicatriz"
This performance is truly a bit of tango perfection! My all time favorite couple Javier and Geraldine embody all that I love about tango. Javier is a master of precision and musicality and Geraldine is a dynamo - how beautiful they were together!

Andres Laza Moreno y Isabel Acuna, Feb. 2011 Seoul, Korea
Music - Carlos Di Sarli,"Nido Gaucho"
What a romantic song! It's like watching a love story unfold. Isabel is so lovely here and Andres is music in motion throughout but when he does his lapiz and enrosques I am in awe! I was so amazed the first time I saw him do those moves that I emailed my teacher right away to ask what they were! I had seen them done before but never with his level of fluidity and always placed perfectly in the music. Watching dancers at this level is an affirmation of the heights that humans can attain - and isn't that what art is for? To show us perfection and inspire us to try for our own heights.
